People Team Intern
First Circle
First Circle is one of the fastest-growing FinTech companies in the country, providing financial services to under-served SMEs. We've already transformed access to credit for thousands of businesses, and now we're building a full-stack neobank offering multi-currency bank accounts, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, and payroll. As we enter this next phase of growth, we're hiring exceptional talent with a track record of excellence to join us in shaping the next chapter.
We're looking for a People Team Intern to support the team that keeps First Circle running, across three areas: talent acquisition and employer brand, workplace and events, and People Operations. This is a hands-on, generalist internship. You'll spend real time on the day-to-day work that makes a 300-person company function: helping source and screen candidates, keeping our people data and documents accurate, and making sure our office and events run smoothly. It's not always glamorous, but it's how you learn how a modern People function actually works end to end. Do it well, and you'll leave with a genuine foundation in fintech People and HR, and you'll be a strong internal candidate for full-time roles.
First Circle is changing small business banking in the Philippines. The sky is the limit for someone who wants to get stuck in and make a difference.
What you'll do:
1. Talent Acquisition & Employer Brand (with our Recruitment team)
- Help source and shortlist candidates for active roles, and post openings on job boards, LinkedIn, and university and community groups to drive applications
- Screen inbound applications in our ATS (Workable) and keep candidate pipelines and trackers accurate and up to date
- Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers
- Support employer brand content: careers page updates, LinkedIn posts, "day in the life" features, and campus outreach
- Help monitor Glassdoor and Indeed reviews and flag themes worth acting on
2. Workplace & Events (with our People Operations team)
- Coordinate office and facilities logistics: supplies, vendor follow-ups, desk and meeting room setup
- Help plan and run company events, all-hands, and team activities, from logistics and RSVPs to on-the-day support
- Support all-hands decks and the monthly company digest
- Act as a friendly on-site point of contact for employee experience in the BGC office
3. People Operations
- Keep our HRIS (BambooHR) records and employee files accurate, complete, and organized
- Support onboarding and offboarding paperwork and new-hire document checks
- Prepare recurring reports, data requests, and standard HR documents
- Take ownership of repeatable, process-based tasks so the team can focus on higher-value work, and suggest ways to simplify or automate them
What success looks like (first 90 days)
By the end of your first 90 days, the team should be able to rely on you without follow-up. In practice, that looks like:
- You own a defined set of recurring tasks end to end, and the team no longer has to track them.
- Candidate pipelines, trackers, and people data are accurate and current, without chasing.
- Office logistics and events run smoothly with minimal supervision.
- You spot when something in a process is off, and you either fix it or flag it to the right person.
- You've shipped at least one small improvement: a cleaner tracker, a checklist, or a simple automation.
Requirements
- Experience level: 0 to 1 year. Final-year students, fresh graduates, and those looking for a first experience in People, HR, or recruitment are welcome to apply.
- Academic background: Any field. Psychology, Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related course is a plus.
- Organization & multitasking: Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle several workstreams at once without dropping the ball.
- Tech-savviness: Comfortable with Google Workspace and Excel or Google Sheets, and quick to learn new tools such as Workable and BambooHR.
- Communication & interpersonal skills: Professional, approachable, and a clear communicator in English and Filipino.
- Ownership & discretion: Reliable, proactive, and able to handle confidential employee and candidate information with discretion.
- On-site availability: Able to be in our BGC office on scheduled office days and for events.
Nice to have:
- Internship or campus-organization experience in HR, recruitment, events, or administration
- A genuine interest in a career in People, HR, talent, or employer branding
- Basic content or design skills (for example, Canva) for employer brand work
Benefits
- Hands-on experience and mentorship across the full People function: recruitment, employer brand, workplace and events, and people operations.
- Hybrid set-up: in our BGC office on scheduled office and event days, remote the rest of the time.
- Benefits: HMO coverage from month one, free catered lunches, monthly fitness, transportation, and accommodation allowance, and more.
- Join a team with a deeply collaborative culture! Learn more here: https://www.firstcircle.ph/careers
