Outpatient Coder (ED) – Training Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Outpatient Coder (ED) – Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will lead training initiatives focused on Emergency Department (ED) coding, helping develop high-performing coders while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver training programs focused on Outpatient Emergency Department (ED) coding

• Develop and update training materials, modules, and assessments

• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to trainees

• Evaluate trainee progress and ensure readiness for production

• Work closely with QA and operations teams to identify training needs

• Ensure adherence to coding standards and regulatory guidelines
  
  

Qualifications

• PRN (Registered Nurse)

• With CPC Certification

• At least 2 years of Outpatient ED coding experience

• At least 1 year of training experience preferred

• Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills

• Ability to simplify complex coding concepts for learners
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Must be flexible to work on a shifting schedule, including:

  • Weekends

  • Night shifts

  • Holidays (as required by business needs)
