Your Task:
- Ensure that all shipments – both inbound and outbound – are processed according to local and DHL Network standards and that transit times are met.
- Assist in ensuring operational practices and procedures are carried out effectively
- Carry out any administrative task that is required for the Service Centre in order to process material and provide network and shipment information often within tight time-frames.
- Manage the handover of paperwork to third party brokers
- Capture information - and make available to the Network - information required for a shipment, piece or handling unit at the service center according to the standard procedures.
- Ensure the attainment of both inbound and outbound shipment clearance, efficiently within clearance performance targets and transit time.
- Process inbound material upon arrival and make sure material is available to the couriers and that material not going out for delivery is secured according to the Security policy and procedures.
- Process outbound material according to the latest processes and procedures
- Arrange / attend physical inspections of shipments by authorities and record actions
- Monitor the registration / license requirements for DHL Customs facilities
- Ensure that all relevant equipment is operating and take corrective actions where equipment failure and to be proactive through taking action where equipment is falling below operating standards.
- Keep the process area clean and tidy and make sure it is ready for the next process cycle
- Manage the receipt of data/documents to assist in the preparation of import and export declarations
- Compile supporting documentation
- Screen data / documents for completeness and accuracy
- Source paperwork from Update data in customer databases
What you bring?
- Experience of working with customs clearance matters within transportation, logistics or import / export industry
- 1 to 3+ years in transportation, import/export operations, or passenger handling.
- Valid local driver's license (commercial/truck classifications are a plus).
- Forklift License (preferable)
- Familiarity with customs clearance, IATA, Dangerous Goods (DGR), and airport security protocols
