The Director of Operations – ISG serves as the senior operational leader for the IS Contactor business within the Philippines factory, leads the ISG operational business capability for released and new products working collaboratively with other ASIA operations and is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and organizational performance across assigned & cross-functional operations. As a member of the Philippines Site Leadership Team, the position partners closely with the Managing Director and peer functional leaders to execute business strategies, develop organizational capability, and achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the ISG Operations function of approximately 400 people: Machine shop production (~50 high precision machines), Assembly & test production , Planning, Warehouse, Tool Crib, and other functions as assigned.
- Develops leadership and continuous improvement capability within ISG organization and across the COHU Philippines factory.
- Develops, controls, plans & owns budget and CAPEX for the ISG organization with close control of cost-effective measures to control operating expenditures, manpower, wages and related overhead costs.
- Obtains and develops capacity to meet factory growth associated with volume increase/decrease and New Product Introduction (NPI) and be accountable for product transfers from Business Units that meet the committed qualification dates and quality standards.
- Leads the company in the published KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and builds the required teams and culture to meet the objectives.
- Develops, improves and sustains productivity improvements using data analysis and related manufacturing tools. Strong LEAN & Six Sigma methodologies should be taught, coached and deployed in this effort.
- Drives continuous improvement efforts and related corrective/preventive action programs and other related functions in operations.
- Administers the company's quality policy according to corporate standards, lead a culture of Zero Defects standard, deploy the required tools (8D, FMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, DMAIC) and data analysis within cross-functional teams to achieve the committed results.
- Customer Satisfaction Management which includes deploying tracking systems and KPI’s for customer issues and monitoring customer satisfaction (CAPA/8D). Directly communicate with the other Business Unit leaders to ensure positive relationships are established and followed up with regular communications.
- Works with SCM and procurement team to ensure supply chain meets the quality expectations and on time delivery commitments.
- Provides work leadership to other individuals in the operation, coordinates and directs routine department activities.
- Responsible in assuring that appropriate measures are in place which have a direct impact to the Health and Safety of the employees and protection of the environment.
- Responsible in demonstrating integrity in its business dealings with people & organizations and should operate consistent to the corporate's highest ethical standards.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Preferably with Master's degree in any discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of ten years in a manufacturing or quality environment, with a minimum of five years’ managerial experience.
Significant, verifiable expertise in Lean/6-Sigma methodologies
Skill/ Technical Requirements :
- Computer literate in MS Office applications.
- Familiar with ISO 9001
- Statistical tools (ie JMP) preferred
- Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills.
