Transportation and Maintenance Manager

About the role

Value Chain Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Transportation and Maintenance Manager to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our transportation fleet. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our transportation and logistics functions, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and the proper maintenance of our vehicles.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and oversee the transportation and logistics functions, including route planning, driver scheduling, and vehicle maintenance
• Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of our vehicle fleet
• Analyse transportation data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation operations
• Manage and supervise a team of transportation and maintenance personnel
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in the manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution industries
• Demonstrated experience in managing and optimizing transportation operations, including route planning, driver supervision, and vehicle maintenance
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices
• Proficient in data analysis and using transportation management systems
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of transportation and maintenance personnel
