Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Operations Manager to lead our technical operations, ensuring the seamless performance of our infrastructure and systems. Reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer, you will oversee infrastructure hosting, manage our DevOps and desktop support teams, and bridge the gap between operational execution and strategic management. With a strong background in Azure and expertise in DevOps practices, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing TradeWindow’s technical ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Hosting: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of TradeWindow’s cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Azure Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure to manage cloud resources, optimize performance, and implement best practices for cost efficiency and reliability.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the DevOps and desktop support departments, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture while aligning efforts with company goals.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Actively participate in both operational tasks and strategic planning, balancing hands-on technical work with managerial responsibilities.
  • DevOps Mastery: Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and incident response, to ensure efficient delivery of TradeWindow’s solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and support teams to align technical operations with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and policies while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Background And Work Experience Required For This Role

  • Proven experience as a Technical Operations Manager or similar role in a technology-driven environment.
  • The ability to manage globally distributed teams - this will involve varying your working hours as needed to meet project and team deliverables.
  • Extensive background in Microsoft Azure, including hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure management, networking, and security.
  • Expertise in DevOps practices, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, or similar). Experience with products like Parrallels would be highly favourable.
  • Experience with AVD, Virtualisation, RAS servers (Remote Access Servers) highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead DevOps and desktop support teams effectively.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and system administration.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to balance operational execution and strategic oversight.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment—ideally within tradetech, fintech, or a related industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
