The Role

BGC, Taguig (onsite)

8:30 AM - 5:30 PM PHT

We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Taxation Officer to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. This role involves preparing and filing accurate tax returns (AFS/ITR, VAT, GST, withholding taxes), managing BIR report submissions (Alphalist, Relief, etc.), handling billing checks and tax computations, and staying up to date with BIR forms, issuances, and electronic filing systems (EFPS, eAFS, SEC). The ideal candidate will support tax audits, maintain proper documentation, conduct internal tax risk reviews, and assist in developing tax-efficient strategies while working closely with the Sr. Finance Supervisor, legal team, and external consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the preparation of federal, state, local, and international tax returns
  • Developing tax strategies to optimize tax obligations and ensure compliance with tax laws
  • Analyzing and reviewing financial data to identify tax savings and minimization opportunities
  • Conducting research on tax laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes and developments
  • Collaborating with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits
  • Managing and coordinating tax provision and tax compliance process
  • Advising management and related stakeholders on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities
  • Developing and implementing best practices for tax processes and procedures
  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports on the company’s tax situation for senior management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in tax compliance or advisory
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • 3 years of auditor experience in top 30 firms is a plus
  • Graduating from the top 50 universities is a plus
  • CPA is a plus
  • Proficiency in tax software and MS Excel.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proven work experience as a tax officer
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
  • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills
  • Analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset
