The Tax Preparation Associate -US Client will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, including transaction processing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting. The role will involve working closely with both internal teams and clients to ensure accurate financial records, timely filing of taxes, and compliance with accounting standards.
Job Description
• Compile, verify, post, and reconcile financial transactions (invoices, checks, etc.) using QuickBooks or other systems.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and proper coding of all transactions.
• Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, 1099s, and other compliance-related reports.
Accounting System Management:
• Identify and correct discrepancies in client accounting systems.
• Create adjusting journal entries for accruals, depreciation, and period-end items.
• Ensure compliance with Sales & Use Tax regulations.
• Assist in tax planning projections, benchmarking, and preparation of tax returns under supervision.
• Provide QuickBooks training and support to clients.
• Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and automation.
• Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and foster client loyalty.
• Prepare financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Review financial records for accuracy.
Required Qualifications
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online – set up vendors, track 1099, create invoices, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication abilities, allowing effective interaction with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, and the ability to clearly explain complex information.
• Strong analytical thinking to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions to improve processes and resolve challenges efficiently.
• Has a high level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data, ensuring all information is kept confidential and complies with privacy regulations and company policies.
Screening Criteria
• At least one (1) to three (3) years of US bookkeeping experience.
• Must have a stable employment history
