Tax and Compliance Officer

Job Summary:

• We are looking for an experienced Tax and Compliance Officer to help oversee the general operations of finance and accounting by controlling and verifying our financial transactions to ensure company readiness for any form of financial audit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the maintenance, organization, and storage of financial records for tax preparedness
• Prepare, review, and file the relevant BIR returns including attachments such as SLSP, QAP, SAWT, and Annual Alphalist for withholding taxes:
  • Monthly and Quarterly Value Added Tax
  • Monthly and Quarterly Withholding Tax
  • Quarterly Income Tax
  • Annual Inventory List
• Monitor and update the GIS on an annual basis.
• Reconcile monthly the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts related to the BIR returns.
• Liaise with HR/Admin for the renewal of the annual business permits.
• Coordinate with internal/external parties, particularly BIR and other government agencies.
• Analyze issues and provide recommendations to improve internal processes and systems.
• Post Audit the following entries in the system daily:
  • Bills to pay
  • 2307 - Creditable Withholding Tax
• Updated on tax and other relevant policies and advise management on recommended actions on tax and audit matters.
• Assist the Finance Manager during Financial, BIR, and LGU audit.
• Assist the Finance Manager as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education - Graduate of Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or any related course
• Experience - Ideally with at least two (2) years of meaningful experience in finance, taxation, and accounting.
• Experience from Auditing Firms is a plus but not required. Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Analytical and strategic thinking.
• Advanced knowledge in finance, taxation, and accounting
• Time management skills
• MS Excel/ Google Workspace knowledge
• Self-sufficient and being able to act with the utmost integrity
