Duties And Responsibilities

• Analyze low to medium level discrepancies between SAP, Invoices and Purchase orders and other various data elements (i.e., Ship to, tax authority, UNSPSC, customer exemption certificate, general ledger accounts, etc.)
• Prepares data analytics for reporting to Global Indirect Tax organization, interdependent processes and other relevant decision-makers when requested with guidance from Specialist or Supervisor
• Collaborates with teams and various work groups (IT Tax, RTR, STP, MDM, LEX, HTR) to resolve Tier 1 level issues in coming up with permanent fixes to resolve the root cause of the errors encountered, which can be in the form of ITSM ticket, change request (CR) or WRICEF (Workflow, Report, Interface, Enhancement or Form) in SAP and or BI/BW
• Achieve KRA targets with Customer First and an operational excellence mindset
• Adhere to statutory (tax) regulations, 3M Global Financial Standards (GFS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other relevant regulations through controls mindset.
• Ensures compliance with statutory (tax) regulations, 3M Global Financial Standards (GFS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other relevant regulations through controls mindset.
• Participates/leads projects related to 3M’s Business Transformation priorities (i.e., Polaris SAP deployment, Robotics & Process Automation (RPA), process standardization and various Lean Six Sigma (LSS) initiatives).
• Participates in ad-hoc activities (i.e., internal/external audit, tax audit, etc.) as needed. Takes ownership and initiative of assigned task
  
  
  

Education And Experience

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor-level university college degree or higher in Tax or Accounting
• Minimum of at least 1 year working experience
  
  
  

Knowledge And Skills

• Basic knowledge of theories/concepts and practices of Indirect Tax, particularly VAT/GST;
• Develops knowledge of tax-related master data including the material master, vendor master, and financial master data;
• Develops knowledge of the assigned area of responsibility and 3M/multi-national company (MNC) structure, organization, and business;
• Develop knowledge of ALM QC testing application and 3M testing procedures;
• Basic knowledge in SAP, HANA, Business Intelligence (BI)/ Business Warehouse (BW) and other connected applications [OneSource (Sabrix), Ariba, LCR Dixon, etc] is an advantage;
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Alteryx and other data analytics and collaboration tools;
• Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
