Job Summary

The Network and System Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the organizations computer networks and systems. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and availability of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments. The administrator also provides technical support, troubleshooting, and implements improvements to keep systems up to date and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Help Desk and Technical Support

  • Serve as the primary contact for help desk tickets, addressing basic technical issues and escalating complex ones as needed.
  • Provide first-level support for software, hardware, and network connectivity issues.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to end-users and IT staff.
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL framework and experience with ticketing systems.


System and Network Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance on IT systems and networks to prevent issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Configure and maintain VPNs, LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and internet access.
  • Monitor system performance and network availability, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ensure system and network security by implementing appropriate firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting for network connectivity problems and escalate unresolved issues to supervisor.
  • Administration and support of cloud-based SaaS platforms.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, email, and security protocols (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policy).
  • Experience managing identity and access in cloud environments, including Azure Active Directory, SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
  • Experience with endpoint protection and EDR platforms


User Training and Support

  • Provide basic training and guidance to employees, helping them effectively use software applications and IT resources.
  • Respond to general inquiries regarding IT best practices to enhance user productivity and reduce errors.


IT Inventory Management

  • Track hardware and software assets across all sites, ensuring accurate records and efficient resource allocation.
  • Identify and report needs for equipment upgrades or replacements to maintain optimal functionality.


Scalability Support

  • Assist with scaling the IT infrastructure as the company grows, supporting resource planning and expansion efforts.
  • Document and standardize setup procedures to streamline future growth.


Support for Multiple Locations

  • Coordinate IT resources and support for all manufacturing sites, maintaining consistency across locations.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to ensure aligned and streamlined operations between locations.


Qualification And Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field.


Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in IT support or a related position.


Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and macOS, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of LAN/WAN infrastructure, including configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, and managed network devices.
  • Network Security: Experience in implementing and maintaining network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and data protection protocols.
  • Cloud & SaaS: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) and basic administration of SaaS tools.
  • Remote Support & Tools: Skilled in remote desktop support, ticketing systems, asset management, and VoIP systems.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities for both systems and network layers.
  • Scripting & Automation (Optional/Advanced): Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for task automation is a plus.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Customer Service: Approachable and responsive, with a focus on end-user satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Capable of working independently and as part of a cross-functional IT team under the guidance of senior administrators.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in handling system configurations and troubleshooting activities.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment, including computers and peripherals, as required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in an office and remote support environments. Occasional travel between Dermorepubliq office locations may be required to ensure consistent support across sites.
