We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to be responsible for the daily, monthly and quarterly general ledger accounting activity, daily bank activities and corporate level projects/tasks supporting our customer care and information technology lines of business . This position is highly visible to senior management and is critical to producing accurate and timely financial information for a publicly traded company. This position is responsible for the general ledger accounting activity for the Customer Care line of business and Information Technology shared services. This position is critical to producing accurate and timely financial information for Harte Hanks’ public and internal reporting, and supports the US accounting team and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate, prepare and record journal entries including prepaid amortization, intercompany, revenue entries, payroll entries, payroll accrual and accounts payable accruals, etc.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts and prepare related schedules
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset ledgers including reconciliation
• Interact with operations personnel to ensure proper recording of revenue and accuracy of financial results
• Liaison with internal account representatives on invoicing issues
• Participate in quarterly and yearly audits
• Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, as well as internal controls
• Participate in individual and team projects
• Work with international team members
• Special projects as needed
  
  

Qualifications, Knowledge, And Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

• 4+ years of related accounting experience; at least 2 years US accounting
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel
• Use of NetSuite Accounting software is a plus
• Strong internal and external communications skills, verbal and written
