UCT is looking for a talented Sr. Dir Global Quoting & Estimating to join us in Cebu!

This is a Global function and requires working with Sales/Business Operations in a matrix structure. This position has global direct reports, with the primary role of developing a World class quoting operation that is a competitive advantage that wins & grows the business. (Primary location: Cebu, Philippines)

Essential Quoting Duties and Responsibilities:

• Competitive quotes communicated with speed and accuracy that drive customer success
• Speed: Quote turnaround time that meets customer expectations.
• Accuracy: Transparent quote roll up that when verified has no outliers out of the norm.
• Competitive: Exceed customer expectations with won/loss feedback tracked
• Cost Reduction: Supports SCM Cost Reduction & Margin Expansion activities
• Innovation: Technology to improve decision-making and speed of quote delivery.
• Use a governance system to monitor and adjust performance to meet goals and objectives
• Drives continuous improvement
• Commodity Cost models in a library for easy reference and revision controls
• Enable Sales/Business Operations to:
• Meet or exceed gross margin goal of 18%
• achieve greater than 25% material margins
• Develop and manage should cost engineering / estimating group that estimates based on drawings for new parts. (e.g. such as structural frame, sheet metals, machined parts, cable & harness…etc.)
• Centralize reviews with Sales / Business Ops to drive lessons learned and process compliance to increase First Pass Yield for costing/quoting.
• Perform data collection/analysis to govern results for various departments and purposes
• Reports department, project metrics and performance on a weekly basis
• Implement quoting application/system (“In-Mind”) to replace manual methods being used
• Reviews and approves quotes as defined by business process
• Drives prioritization meeting with Customer Program Managers, Site Operations Heads, Sales
• Publishes Quote prioritization weekly and addresses out-of-forum prioritization requests
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be capable of suggesting process improvements to ensure internal efficiencies are realized and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of should cost analysis:
• estimating/costing models, tools, industry cost databases and estimation software such as: Apriori, Costimator, QuickCost, Harness Estimator or equivalent
• BOM and labor analysis & manipulation
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Excellent cross functional team building skills
• Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to Manage remote teams in several locations
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with SAP ERP systems
  
  

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelors Degree in technical field or equivalent experience & education
• MBA preferred but not required
  
  

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 10+ years experience in costing and estimating using cost models, industry cost databases and familiar with cost estimation software tools such as: Apriori, Costimator, QuickCost, Harness Estimator or equivalent.
• 5+ Year in a management leadership role
• 5+ years of complex negotiations (with suppliers or customers)
