Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example, actively participating in testing efforts while managing and guiding the team of testers.
- Define and implement a robust testing strategy and framework, ensuring its adoption across the organisation.
- Champion a collaborative quality assurance approach, promoting a "quality first" mindset to ensure precise and effective testing.
- Prioritise pragmatism in testing efforts, ensuring balanced and efficient testing coverage for fast and efficient delivery while avoiding over-testing in some areas and under-testing in others.
- Effectively communicate testing progress, risks, and options to stakeholders, especially if certain aspects may impact the software release timeline.
- Manage and grow the testing assets essential for meeting the testing mandate, including team members, testing tools, and testing processes.
- Analyse testing trends within the business and implement continuous improvement practices to enhance the overall team performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand testing requirements and ensure software meets quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest software testing trends, automation strategies, frameworks, and tool selections.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to develop and execute test plans and manage test cases effectively.
- Track and report test progress, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
- Encourage innovation and experimentation in testing methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a proven track record of effectively leading and managing a team of testers.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and practices.
- Ability to define and establish comprehensive testing strategies and frameworks, with a focus on continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative and quality-driven testing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, thriving under pressure to meet deadlines.
