Job Purpose
The Shopper Development Manager directs efforts to achieve goals in Sales, Collection, 5Ps and Training achievement for a specific geographic area for a specific channel. He/she is responsible for building the capability of the team to support them in their local thematics following the national initiatives cascaded by Retail Marketing. The position is also responsible for managing the overall budget of the team.

Job Purpose

The position is also responsible for managing the overall budget of the team.
Core Responsibilities
- Revenue Growth Management
- Provides inputs based on external assessment by sub-category and/or customer
- Tracks the ASP levers in an ongoing basis
- Contributes to the NPD strategy and SPI
- Overall 5P Management
- Develops 5Ps recommendations by RE / Customer as well as Planning/ R&O Guidance for all unplanned NPD.
- Builds a 5P customer level “Bottom Up” Plan and identifies commercial plan exceptions
- Develops category assortment priorities by customer and execute actions through customer range reviews or range updates
- Tracks pricing by customer and competitors
- Loads Promotional Plan By Customer/APG into Standardised Prom Grid
- Responsible for tracking promotions vs plan by customer
- Consolidates ROI Customer Inputs Into Key Themes/ Challenges
- Tracks SOS, placement by customer and competitor activities
- Works on investment prioritization of POPs (GTN) and quality/compliance monitoring
- Grid Management
- Tracks performance and activities (Pipeline & Saturation, In-store POP Deployment) of Brands
- Analyzes customers feedbacks and product performance
- Leads the overall shopper promo/customer grid development of the team, including promo allocation, evaluation / ROI / Margin on a quarterly and monthly basis
- Sales Management
- Develops monthly sales demand and provides inputs on managing shelf space
- Manages sales execution (annual/quarterly sales target and measures, sales budget including adjustments and monitoring sales performance and assortment compliance)
- Identify key opportunities & growth drivers to grow sales (environment scan, trends, gap analysis and SWOT analysis)
- Attend Top to Top Meetings and business reviews
- Go-To-Market
- Builds plans for detailed shopper strategy for local market, product assortment and placement, in-store support and going-in demand
- Creates customized selling story by customer
- Firms up pipeline and on-shelf availability timeline, full customer support plan, full details of in-store support and customization of Planogram & Placement as per Customers during pre-launch and launch
- Releases daily/weekly NPI tracker (volume, activity, etc), learning and forward action post-launch/project evaluation
- Responsible for P&L (customer investment strategy, sales targets, margin targets)
- CBP
- Owns the diagnostic preparation - updates customer plans (volume and condition) and pricing, conducts pre-cut alignment meeting, checks NS gaps by customers, category & sub-category between CBP and LE/Prior Year by cat and subcat, FY & by Quarter
- Analyzes 5P in-market performance by Customer/Sub-Cat (week 2), Customer exceptions and NPI/transition grid for Demand Collaboration
- Recommends action plans by customer, category and sub-category outside budget or agreed strategy
- Updates CBP according to approved plans
- In-store Management
- Ensures proper implementation of in-store fixtures and POPs as cascaded by In-Store Management team
- Reviews POP evaluations made by CDM and/or SAM after store implementation
- Approves Promosys for POP production and POs raised by Shopper Activation Manager
- People Management
- Reviews and manages performance of Shopper Activation Manager, ensuring objectives are aligned with company and organizational goals
- Coaches, mentors and develops the direct report to improve productivity, ensure continuous development and team effectiveness.
- Evaluates and identifies competency gaps and proposes action plans, ensuring follow through and completion of agreements as captured in the Individual Development Plan.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Management or related field.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Customer Development field sales handling direct trade accounts with consistent track record of excellent performance
