- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples.
- Assist the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of high-quality service in accordance with relevant legislative provision, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures and contemporary best practice.
- Develop weekly work rosters, matching young people subject to youth justice orders, with appropriate youth workers.
- Negotiate with other Government and community agencies, on behalf of young people, so as to enhance their access to services in accordance with the case plan.
- Conduct regular audits of Workplace Health and Safety issues in relation to agencies. Ensure that safety equipment is available, and all equipment used in conjunction with the Community Service Order Program is safe to operate.
- Provide supervision and support to young people to assist with their compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community in accordance with the case plan.
- Maintain records of program attendance and prepare reports to assist case planning and reviews and attend these meetings as required.
- Participate productively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team involving a range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality casework outcome.
- You understand the impacts of historical and contemporary policy and practices upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander You have a demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively, and with humility, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current "C" Class Drivers licence.
- Applicants are encouraged to provide a referee who is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
- Additional pre-employment screening for this role includes serious disciplinary history disclosure, reference and qualifications check and eligibility to work in
- Citizenship/Visa: to be employed in a position, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.
- Rural and Remote Incentive Allowance of $2,500 every 6 months
- Locality Allowance paid fortnightly of $33.30 ($66.60 with dependents)
- Ability to negotiate subsidised Government Employee Housing if relocating to Emerald
