Senior Technical Support

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Server and Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting our organization's IT infrastructure, focusing on server administration, security, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Windows Server OS Administration: Manage and maintain Windows server environments, ensuring system stability and availability.
• UNIX/Linux Server OS Administration: Oversee the administration of UNIX/Linux servers, providing support for both on-premises and cloud-based services.
• Server Backup and Restore: Perform regular backups of servers and ensure data recovery strategies are in place and operational.
• Vulnerability Mitigation and Patching: Implement and manage patching and hardening processes for Windows and Linux systems to protect against security vulnerabilities.
• System Monitoring: Monitor server and infrastructure performance, ensuring optimal security, availability, and efficiency of the IT environment.
• 2nd Level Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for server and infrastructure issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers for issue resolution, software updates, and technical support.
• User Account Management: Create and manage system permissions, user accounts, and access control to ensure secure and efficient operations.
• Support for IT Infrastructure Lead: Assist the IT Infrastructure Systems Services Lead in managing the overall IT environment and executing infrastructure projects.
• 1st Level Database Administration: Provide basic database administration support as needed, including maintenance and backup of databases.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience:
  • Proven experience in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Familiarity with server backup and restore processes.
  • Experience with vulnerability mitigation, patch management, and system hardening.
  • Hands-on experience with system monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Experience providing 2nd level infrastructure support and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of database administration basics is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in server environments.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external teams.
