Role: Senior Tax & Business Services Accountant
Work Arrangement: Work From Office
Location: Philippines - Angeles
Schedule: Morning shift
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and other lodgments for companies, partnerships, trusts, and a range of individual businesses
- Preparation of work papers and reconciliation to financial statement stage
- Indepth Tax knowledge including Fringe Benefit tax (FBT), Personal Serice Income(PSI) , Payroll tax, Depreciation and GST on car limit, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Division 7A, Small Business entities (SBE) QBCC reporting and Debt equity
- Preparation of tax returns using latest Australian tax rules, including Partnership, Discretionary Trust, Unit Trust, Sole Traders, Private Companies and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns
- Tax knowledge including preparation of activity statements, quarterly super reporting, trust minutes, company dividends statements, ASIC annual reporting and TPAR reporting
- Advise clients on Set up and operations of Xero data file, Xero payroll, Auto super and lodgements of BAS's
- Assist with general bookkeeping duties
- Assist clients with tax planning including concessional super, carry forward super and non-concessional super thresholds
- Business advisory projects such as budgets, cashflows, management reporting, business restructuring, business valuations and due diligence work
- Analyse and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues
- Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with client's compliance requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities on Bank Reconciliation
- Analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
- Daily Timesheet preparation in specified application
- Pro-active raising queries
- Pro-actively raise queries and suggestions regarding client’s records to promptly prepare the working papers
- Manage workflow and ensure jobs are completed accordingly before deadline set by the client
- Management of junior staff
- Training of junior staff
Qualification and requirements:
- Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
- Completed or working towards completion of CA / CPA.
- At least 6-8 years accounting & taxation experiences within Australia
- With additional 2-3 years SMSF experience (optional)
- Indepth understanding of Australia and/or taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, FBT, CGT, Division 7A ( see above)
- Ability to be able to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently
- Xero certification and Xero Payroll certification
- Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, QuickBooks, Class, FYI docs (optional)
- Proficient English writing and verbal skills
- Excellent communication skills with strong relationship and stakeholder management
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload, excellent time keeping and managing time spent on client's work (WIP)
- Collaborative, team player who understands the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider client's business.
- Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics
Non-negotiable skills & requirements:
- Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
