  • Pre-Contract Duties:
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies.
  • Manage and review bills of quantities, tender documents, and procurement strategies.
  • Support risk analysis and value engineering exercises.
  • Contract Management:
  • Administer contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, or local forms).
  • Evaluate and negotiate tenders and subcontractor agreements.
  • Monitor contract compliance and change management.
  • Cost Control and Reporting:
  • Track budget vs actual costs, provide cost forecasts, and mitigate variances.
  • Approve and certify interim payments, variations, and claims.
  • Provide monthly cost reports and financial dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination:
  • Mentor and supervise junior QS staff.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants professionally.
  • Post-Contract Duties:
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
  • Support audits and project close-out reporting.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to process improvements.
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIArb, ICE, or local equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead QS role.
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and cost management software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Excel).
