About the Role
The role will assist the Director of Legal in the day-to-day functions of the Department and will handle work for GoTyme Bank and its corporate affiliate, SAVii.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with requirements of the SEC, BSP, and other relevant regulators.
Contracts: Review, draft, and manage agreements to protect the bank’s interests and enable business growth.
Corporate Governance: Provide legal guidance to support board and management governance processes.
Legal Advisory: Offer practical legal consultation on legislation, regulations, and business initiatives.
Litigation & Disputes: Handle judiciary, labor, administrative, and other cases, including coordination with external counsel.
Intellectual Property: Manage and safeguard IP rights, including trademarks and related matters.
Documentation: Draft and prepare legal documents such as demand letters, notices, and memoranda.
Employee Relations: Advise on labor and employee-related issues in partnership with HR.
Data Privacy: Support compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
External Affairs: Represent the bank in dealings with regulators and manage relationships with external counsel.
Must haves:
- Law degree and Philippine Bar admission required.
- 7-10 years experience in corporate law and/or commercial law & labor law practice, preferably with banking experience
- Strong English communication skills — verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn and expand expertise in areas critical to the role’s success.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Digital dexterity — comfort working with digital tools and processes.
- Ethical judgment and integrity in all decision-making.
