As part of a matrix RDD organization, and within the Design Engineering function, Graphics and Packaging is large-scale team focused on the design and development of customer facing graphics and packaging solutions for all Dyson products. Based in Philippines Technology Campus in Philippines, this is part of SEA functions that delivers graphics and packaging from concepts to applications of the robust solutions that can be efficiently manufactured at scale.

About The Role

As a Senior/Graphics and Packaging Operation Engineer, is key strategic thinker with a clear understanding of how to develop and effective delivery of graphics and packaging design solutions in multiple categories. You will be managing graphics artworks and create materials list of requirements relevant to NPD, CPM and Lifecycle projects (X/LX), performing artwork, materials and specifications setup as well as coordinating internal stakeholder management. This role requires you to collaborate cross functional team like commercial, marketing, compliance, design engineering and suppliers or contract manufacturers.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of all graphics and packaging (G&P) requirements for contract manufacturers compliant with design specifications.
  • Ensuring projects are briefed, planned, managed, and approved according to the correct processes.
  • This role is responsible for ensuring that all graphics and packaging projects adhere to Dyson processes.
  • Escalating to relevant stakeholders and flagging any associated risks, including the possible contingency plans or actions.
  • Brief Writing: Discussing all packaging, labelling, and graphics requirements with relevant teams (packaging design, engineering, creative, commercial, legal, IP, tech services, standards, compliance, etc.) to create an accurate brief before upload in the system (Censhare).
  • Oversee all graphics deliverables according to the timeline, from receiving assets to parts approval readiness.
  • Manage inputs from other stakeholders locally & internationally for content implementation on artwork.
  • Participate in planning & cross-functional meetings locally & internationally for matters pertaining to Graphics & Packaging.
  • Perform part, sub-assembly, and finished goods approval for new graphics and packaging developments according to the defined and agreed requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on subject matter and provide support to the team regarding print and packaging processes, scheduling, and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for documenting, sharing, and implementing new/known best practices and methodologies across SEA, be it internal or external functions.
  • Collaborate across internal functions such as SEA G&P, Design, Operations, Procurement, and Quality to contribute necessary or valuable information to the team.
  • Proactively coordinate with suppliers and technical specialists, leading the discussion of parts development within approved materials and technology.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and has the capability to delegate tasks, manage escalations to specific support groups regarding day-to-day activities and issue resolution.
  • Help parts localization initiatives by evaluating, training, and approving new vendors to prevent supply risk as well as to improve timing and cost.


Qualification & Technical Requirements

  • More than 5 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position
  • Engineering graduate with relevant experience on graphics and packaging management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective communication and planning/scheduling abilities.
  • Knowledge of BOM and materials, with experience in Team-Centre and Product Lifecycle applications.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Skills in risk assessment and management
  • Strong experiences with graphics & packaging processes, with the ability to recommend & formulate best practices that will best suit Dyson environment is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing artwork/design with multi-lingual.
  • Highly adaptable, able to develop and utilize multiple skills for greater flexibility.
  • Self-motivated to deliver task to end while learning by doing or with peers.
