Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Tax Operations Manager to join our team in the Philippines. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the execution of corporate tax operational activities, with a primary focus on ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison with tax authorities and external advisors, while also driving operational excellence and supporting the company’s strategic tax objectives. This includes implementing effective process management, maintaining strong governance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance in the Philippines, including corporate income tax, withholding taxes, freight taxes and transfer pricing returns.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation, review and submission of tax returns and related filings.
  • Support global reporting requirements within the region, e.g. CbCR, Pillar II.
  • Manage tax audits, enquiries and resolving tax controversies.
  • Drive a proactive tax audit readiness approach within country.
  • Manage tax accounting requirements within country.
  • Manage tax compliance & reporting in other countries within the APA region.

Risk Management and Governance

  • Identify, assess and mitigate country related tax risks.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and ensure control compliance where applicable.

Operational Excellence

  • Support and implement standardised tax processes and controls to ensure consistency, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with finance and other teams to improve processes, risk management and the internal control environment.
  • Maintain and enhance the use of technology solutions to streamline and optimise tax compliance and reporting.

Strategic Initiatives and Business Support

  • Monitor tax law changes within country, evaluate business impacts and effectuate, where applicable.
  • Provide tax advisory and technical guidance to business teams and support cross-border operational planning.

We’re looking for

  • Degree-level education, 8+ years of progressive professional experience.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in multinational corporations or Big 4 accounting firms is highly valued.
  • Background in international shipping and logistics is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in direct tax operations or compliance roles.
  • Proven track record of working with tax authorities, managing audits, and resolving disputes.
  • Knowledge of regional and international tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with tax automation tools and solutions
