About the Role:
As the Senior Business Development Manager (Industry Head) for our BNPL and Atome Card business, you will own a key vertical or regional portfolio and lead a team of BD Managers to scale strategic partnerships, drive commercial performance, and deepen market penetration. This is a leadership role that combines high-level strategic planning with hands-on execution. You will be responsible for defining vertical-specific strategies, managing key merchant relationships, leading negotiations, and mentoring the team to consistently exceed growth targets. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to launch impactful merchant programs and ensure the long-term success of our BNPL and card offerings. ---
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute vertical-specific or market-specific go-to-market strategies for BNPL and Atome Card products.
- Own the overall growth, profitability, and market share of your assigned industry vertical (e.g., fashion, electronics, travel, health & beauty, etc.).
- Identify high-potential categories, anchor merchants, and scalable partnership models.
Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Business Development Managers and Executives.
- Set clear KPIs and performance goals; review progress and provide mentorship to drive team excellence.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and merchant-centric culture.
Merchant & Partner Management:
- Cultivate C-level relationships with top-tier merchants, aggregators, and ecosystem players.
- Lead commercial negotiations, develop strategic initiatives, and secure long-term agreements.
- Drive co-marketing campaigns, product integrations, and exclusivity arrangements where relevant.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Product, Risk, Marketing, and Operations to deliver seamless onboarding, go-live, and merchant enablement.
- Champion merchant feedback internally to help shape product roadmap and user experience enhancements.
Business Insights & Performance Tracking:
- Analyze vertical performance across GMV, transaction volume, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
- Prepare regular business reviews and reporting for senior leadership.
- Leverage data to identify new growth levers, upsell opportunities, and risk areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 7–10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial strategy, preferably in fintech, payments, e-commerce, or consumer finance.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in managing and mentoring business development or commercial teams.
- Proven track record of structuring large-scale commercial deals and managing complex relationships.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, data-driven, and high-growth environment.
- Deep understanding of the BNPL, credit card, or digital payments ecosystem. ---
Preferred Experience:
- Strong merchant network in key verticals (e.g., fashion, lifestyle, electronics, F&B, healthcare).
- Regional market exposure, especially within Southeast Asia.
- Prior experience launching or scaling card-linked solutions or embedded finance products.
