Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health Actuary to lead our actuarial strategy and drive data-driven decision-making. This role will be instrumental in shaping our pricing framework, improving risk assessments, and ensuring the financial sustainability of our HMO products. The Senior Actuary will oversee actuarial modeling, support product development, and directly manage the Pricing Specialist, fostering growth and excellence within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of actuarial models to support pricing strategies and new product initiatives.
  • Analyze healthcare trends, claims experience, and demographic data to inform business decisions and pricing assumptions.
  • Oversee and mentor the Pricing Specialist, providing guidance on methodologies, models, and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Underwriting, Operations, and Sales to ensure alignment of actuarial insights with business strategies.
  • Prepare and present clear, actionable actuarial reports and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, actuarial standards, and reporting obligations.
  • Monitor emerging healthcare and insurance trends to proactively adapt pricing models and risk assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in actuarial processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA), or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of progressive actuarial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in health insurance, healthcare financing, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Advanced skills in actuarial and financial modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex actuarial concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing actuarial staff or analysts.
  • Knowledge of Philippine healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, GGY AXIS) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Exposure to predictive modeling and machine learning techniques.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to influence organizational decisions.
