Senior Accounting Specialist
First Gen Corporation

Responsible for leading and managing the operations of the Accounting Department and partnering with business units to provide timely and accurate financial reporting, policy direction and guidance, to ensure strict adherence to generally-accepted accounting principles, standards and statutory regulations and to offer functional expertise and advice to enable alignment with and support the achievement of overall corporate business objectives and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Operations and Control
a. Leads and controls complex accounting processes to ensure that accounting records give an excellent
view of the company’s financial situation and are readily available when required.
b. Leads the preparation, reviews and presents highly complex accounting reports (i.e. revenue recognition,
debt vs equity classifications, power purchase agreements), and makes them regularly and readily available to
support business performance and financial reviews.
c. Implements systems of internal control to manage risks and ensure compliance.
d. Reviews, analyses and regularly submits consolidated financial reports.
e. Responsible for accounting policy development and dissemination.
2. Business Partnering
a. Collaborates with internal customers in managing risks and resolving complex accounting issues, both
internal and external, affecting multiple business units.
b. Assists business leaders in understanding and anticipating the accounting impact of complex business
transactions, projects and initiatives and provides functional expertise and advice as needed.
c. Maintains high engagement with internal stakeholders through regular communication to understand and
support their business needs.
3. Continuous Process Review and Improvement
a. Promotes continuous review and integration of end-to-end complex business processes and control to
improve overall performance and productivity.
b. Leads the team in adapting process changes using effective change management approaches.
4. People Management
a. Provides leadership and technical guidance to managers and is accountable for their performance and
results as a team.
b. Leads, directs and engages team members in establishing work priorities and objectives in order to meet
the requirements of internal and external customers.
c. Reviews work output of team members and guides them in the achievement of performance objectives.
d. Facilitates learning, development and discipline for the team through mentoring, coaching and feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. Accountancy graduate
- Must be a CPA
- Minimum Work Experience - 5 years
- Preferably with MBA units
