Scrum Master (Work From Home)

Role Overview

The Scrum Master serves as the team’s Agile guide, ensuring sprints run smoothly, blockers are removed quickly, and collaboration stays strong across onshore and offshore teams. They keep the squad aligned, motivated, and focused on delivering real value each sprint. Beyond ceremonies, they drive continuous improvement by coaching Agile best practices and encouraging feedback. Acting as a servant leader, the Scrum Master empowers the team to stay adaptable, transparent, and delivery-focused.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups to ensure the team remains aligned on sprint goals, surface blockers early, and maintain momentum throughout the iteration.
• Lead sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions in collaboration with Product Owners and team members, ensuring well-defined priorities and clear scope for each sprint.
• Coordinate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams, particularly aligning with GCC resources working overlapping shifts in EST.
• Actively remove impediments that hinder the team’s ability to deliver, acting as a servant leader and trusted escalation point.
• Guide the team through sprint reviews and retrospectives, encouraging constructive feedback and action planning for continuous delivery improvements.
• Provide regular stakeholder communication updates on sprint progress, risks, and delivery timelines through reporting and syncs with leadership.
• Coach Agile best practices across the team and organization, helping to elevate Agile maturity and improve team delivery effectiveness.
• Support release planning by working with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and other Scrum Masters to align PI objectives and dependencies across teams.
• Ensure proper documentation & reporting of Agile artifacts using Jira and Confluence, keeping all stakeholders informed and workflows transparent.
  
  

COMPETENCIES

Core Competencies

• 5 to 7 years of experience applying Agile/Scrum methodology, with a proven track record of facilitating Agile ceremonies. Certified Scrum Master (CSM or SAFe preferred)
• 5 to 7 years of hands-on project management experience, successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within scope.
• 3 years of experience demonstrating strong technical acumen, with familiarity across the software development lifecycle and effective collaboration with technical teams.
• 5 years of excellent stakeholder communication experience, including executive reporting and cross-team collaboration, with strong conflict-resolution skills.
• 5 years of demonstrated change management experience in fast-paced, evolving environments, driving team adaptability and continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
