Job Summary

The Recruitment and Employee Experience Specialist is responsible for forecasting workforce requirements, designing recruitment strategies, and ensuring that Sensible Care has the right mix of qualified and unqualified home care workers and healthcare professionals to meet its growing needs.

The role encompasses end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, compliance monitoring, and care workforce performance management. It includes ensuring that all workers meet compliance standards, receive fair and lawful treatment under Australian employment legislation, and are supported through retention and development initiatives.

This position works closely with the Rostering Team to act on feedback about care worker performance. For larger or higher-risk issues, the Recruitment and Employee Experience Specialist escalates to the Operations Manager, ensuring risks are managed in line with organisational policies, Fair Work and WorkSafe legislation, and aged care workforce compliance frameworks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Forecast and report on workforce needs considering expansion strategy, utilisation, rostering feedback, and client pipeline.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies, utilising diverse sourcing tools and methods.
  • Screen candidates, conduct interviews and reference checks, and negotiate employment terms.
  • Oversee onboarding and ensure completion of compliance documentation, maintaining accurate records across care management and payroll systems (e.g., Employment Hero).
  • Ensure compliance with all aged care industry workforce standards, as well as Australian Fair Work and WorkSafe legislation.
  • Partner with scheduling/rostering and care management teams to align workforce supply with service demand.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals for care workers, providing structured feedback, setting goals, and supporting professional development.
  • Provide coaching, counselling, and where required disciplinary action, in consultation with the Rostering Team Leader and Operations Manager for higher-level risks.
  • Schedule regular workforce communication sessions to address identified issues, trends, or ongoing concerns, with a focus on education and continuous improvement.
  • Address and resolve client or referral source concerns regarding staff performance, ensuring risks are documented and escalated appropriately.
  • Document all candidate, staff, and client correspondence in the system database.
  • Monitor recruitment and retention KPIs (e.g., time-to-hire, retention rates, workforce utilisation) and prepare regular workforce reports for Operations.
  • Ensure all staff align with Sensible Care's values and commitment to ethical, client-centred care.
  • Build and maintain industry networks to support workforce growth and referrals.
  • Take on-call shifts as scheduled and undertake other duties as required.
