Quality Assurance Manager

Responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing quality control processes, implementing quality management systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties:

Quality Assurance

• Monitor and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards throughout the production process

• Review pre- shipment inspection report submitted by suppliers, ensure that the received products and/or new materials are inspected diligently within set standards in terms of basic safety and specifications. The result of the inspection must be sent within the standard period.
• Validate and attend to submitted customer complaints, quality issues, non-conformances and give corresponding corrective and preventive action
• Conduct internal Food Safety and Quality Audit twice a year
• Lead and manage quality programs as requested by third party auditor or client (review whenever necessary)
• Enforce traceability, proper documentation of products for recall purposes (if needed)
• Keep up to date with changes in food laws, labeling requirements and industry regulations
• Oversee sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe production environment (including management of pest control programs)
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and certifications (e.g., ISO, HACCP, GMP, FDA and etc.)
• Conduct periodical training/ seminar on GMP, Food Safety, Food Security to new and relevant employees
• Prepare quality reports and performance metrics for management review

Research and Development

• Conduct timely execution of processing, experiments or batch trial run for product development and release of working specifications as customer's reference
• Document standard process and product specifications for all products being developed
• Review and validate process controls as well as yield indexes for all products being processed
• Strictly implement established process flow
• Update Product Specification to capture changes in product form, packing and packaging and release this to all concerned department
• Conduct product comparison to highlight changes in the product
• Stay up to date with current industry trends, including changing customer requirements, translated into tangible action points to discuss with Sales, Purchasing and Operations Team.

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Food Nutrition, Food Technology or equivalent
• Has 5 years managerial experience in Quality Assuarance
• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Has leadership and coaching skills
• Willing to be asigned in Pasig

Our staff has been certified by the Aquaculture Certification Council, the certification arm for Best Agricultural Practices, to certify that facilities such as hatchery, farm and processing plants abide with Best Aquaculture practices. This includes aspects of responsible sustainable aquaculture. We attend industry trade shows and conferences in Asia, Europe and North America; and visit various seafood plants, restaurants and hyper marts in these regions to keep us current. Mida products are best quality products. We buy directly from producers and stock enough volume to ensure that our prices are competitive and stable. Our deliveries are prompt, and done in reefer vans which maintain products at a temperature of –15 degrees C during delivery. Mida Food products are fresh frozen in nitrogen, contact plate, or blast freezers at temperatures of at most –45 degrees Celsius, and only in plants certified to export to the US, Japan and Europe. Mida Trade was established to service US importers, processors and end users of seafood who wanted to import frozen seafood products from the Far East. Mida Trade also provided assistance to processor-exporters of seafood in the Far East who wanted to expand their markets outside of Japan. Since then Mida has expanded its range of business to include Europe, Australia, and other markets in Asia.
