JOB SUMMARY
Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role
involves conducting audits, managing quality processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain airworthiness and operational
excellence.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and schedules his/her conduct of periodic quality audit on APLUS processes and areas, including evaluation of existing controls with provider/subcontractor/vendors essential to fulfill our approval as an approved MRO.
- Performs audit of the tools, test equipment, facilities, ground equipment, aircraft manuals and qualifications of maintenance personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards established in the APLUS manuals and applicable regulatory requirements, and customer agreement/requirement.
- Conducts applicable audits for new providers/subcontractors/vendors that will be accredited in order to support APLUS maintenance capabilities.
- Stay updated on changes in aviation regulations and standards.
- Supports and actively participates in root-cause-analysis. Follow-up audits to review the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Leads collection and use of statistical data for the monitoring and evaluation of trends.
- Maintain/review and update QMS documents and other procedural contents as needed.
- Actively reports the progress of assigned audit activities and audit findings generated by the audit program to immediate superior.
- Maintain audit documentation records that supports accomplishment of the audit program.
- Perform coordination of planned audit activities with APLUS business units, providers/subcontractors/vendors essential to MRO capability.
- Continuously adheres with quality standards defined by APLUS manuals, to be responsible for the quality of work and strive for continuous improvement
- Complies with applicable regulatory and standards of APPC; actively involve with APPC Safety Management System by reporting all accident, incidents, and any hazard in the work place; and being safety conscious by exerting duty of care in the performance of duties.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor – Quality Assurance Audit and Document Management System.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Holds a relevant engineering degree or license with AMT/AMS rating recognized by an applicable authority.
- Must have completed the minimum training requirement per APLUS approved manual or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in auditing or quality management system environment within the aviation industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulation.
- Advanced knowledge of auditing techniques, including internal, external, and supplier audits.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, and regulatory bodies.
- Knowledge of hazard identification and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement quality improvement initiatives.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to summarize complex technical matters. Must be able to confidently and professionally represent APPC to customers and different civil aviation authority
- Strong analytical and operational business skills
- Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Self-motivated and table to get results with minimal supervision and oversight
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
