QAQC Manager

To lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for dam and hydropower infrastructure projects. The QA/QC Manager ensures that all engineering and construction activities meet the required standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role supports the successful delivery of the project by embedding quality principles into all processes, identifying non-conformances, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilites:
- Align QA/QC plans with HSE standards
- Integrate safety into inspection procedures
- Conduct joint QA-HSE audits
- Enforce safe practices during quality checks
- Support root cause analysis of safety incidents
- Review ITPs and method statements
- Conduct material sampling and lab verifications
- Track non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Ensure corrective actions are closed
- Verify third-party test reports and certifications
- Train site team on QA procedures
- Conduct toolbox talks on quality issues
- Build capacity of local QC inspectors
- Promote lessons learned and case sharing
- Support behavioral safety audits
- Coordinate with designers, contractors, and engineers
- Support RFIs and technical clarifications
- Participate in QA/QC review meetings
- Advise on material substitutions
- Resolve site quality disputes
- Prepare QA/QC logs, reports, and dashboards
- Maintain updated material and inspection records
- Document NCRs, CAPAs, and approvals
- Archive quality certificates and test results
- Ensure traceability for audit trails
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 12+ years of professional experience in civil engineering and construction quality management
- At least 5 years of dedicated QA/QC leadership experience in dam and hydropower infrastructure projects, including tunnels, spillways, powerhouses, and RCC structures
- Strong background in managing quality systems aligned with ISO 9001 standards, including quality planning, inspections, audits, and non-conformance resolution
- Proven experience in FIDIC contract-based projects with international contractors
- Demonstrated capability in leading QA/QC teams, conducting internal/external audits, and interfacing with third-party laboratories and regulatory bodies
- Deep knowledge of QA processes, concrete/masonry testing, welding, geotechnical QA
- Use of digital QA tools, checklists, and documentation platforms
- Strong command of technical standards (ASTM, ACI, EN, BIS)
