Kepler is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer, with Frontend Knowledge to join our engineering team in the ongoing development and evolution of our platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend technologies with a working familiarity with frontend development. This role offers the opportunity to make significant technical contributions to a sophisticated platform used by marketing professionals while collaborating with team leads.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend solutions using:
• Python backend services (Flask, FastAPI, or similar)
• Python-based GraphQL servers
• ORM SQL (SQLAlchemy)
• Contribute to technical decision-making processes while balancing business requirements with technical constraints
• Follow and extend best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment processes across the entire stack
• Collaborate with product management, UI/UX designers, and engineering leads to implement technical specifications
• Implement scalable data models and APIs to support complex business logic
• Optimize application performance across multiple applications
• Apply type safety and code reusability best practices
• Participate in the full development lifecycle from planning to deployment
• Stay up-to-date on the latest tools and techniques, recommending them for incorporation into our platform.
  

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in backend development, focused on building robust and scalable systems.
• Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Python and its related frameworks (Flask, Django, DRF).
• DevOps Tools: Proficiency with Docker, Terraform, Serverless Framework, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with form management in React applications
• Experience with SQL databases, ORM technologies (SQLAlchemy), and GraphQL (Python-based servers)
• Experience (1+ years) in team leadership or people management in a technical context
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (e.g., BS Computer Engineering) is preferred.
• Certifications (Optional but valued): Certified Cloud Practitioner (AWS) or similar relevant certifications
