A Property Lending Assessor (also known as a Mortgage Assessor or Credit Assessor) plays a crucial role in evaluating loan applications for property purchases. Their main responsibility is to assess the risk and viability of lending money to borrowers.
This role is reporting to the Property Lending Manager.
The purpose of this role is to assess residential property loans, resolving outstanding information gaps with customers and referring loans to our lender partner for approval. Always ensuring that Doshs standards are maintained with a focus on turnaround, accuracy and outstanding service.

The purpose of this role is to assess residential property loans, resolving outstanding information gaps with customers and referring loans to our lender partner for approval. Always ensuring that Doshs standards are maintained with a focus on turnaround, accuracy and outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing Loan Applications Reviewing borrower details, income, credit history, and financial stability.
- Property Valuation Analysis Ensuring the propertys value aligns with the loan amount.
- Risk Assessment Identifying potential risks and ensuring the borrower meets lending criteria.
- Compliance & Regulations Ensuring applications comply with rules and guidelines set by the Lender.
- Liaising with Stakeholders Working directly with customers, internal teams and Lenders.
- Decision Making Approving, declining, or recommending loan applications based on analysis.
- Do-the-Doing
- Assessing property loan applications with a practical and balanced approach.
- Engaging customers to close information gaps and complete assessment information.
- Working with Lenders to respond to follow up queries and liaise with customers.
- Achieving targets for loans assessed and percentage of approved lender loans each week.
- Ensuring accurate information is provided lenders for loan approval.
- Completing all work to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Always Ensure Integrity, Risk and Compliance
- Ensure legal, compliance and manage risks daily through appropriate channels, while maintaining high standards and integrity in risk management.
- Follow with precision clear guidelines and rules set by the business.
- Experience in a similar role preferred.
- Be able to exercise lending assessments based upon a sound understanding of our
- Lenders products and policy guidelines.
- Have an excellent understanding of property lending.
- Proven ability to engage customers by email in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time.
- Multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a high pace environment.
- Flexibility and ability to work with change.
- Numerically competent with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail while maintaining service standards.
- Excellent work ethic and self-motivated, with interests in ongoing personal development.
