About the team

The Office of the President drives high-priority, cross-functional projects across Devex — from communications and marketing campaigns to special events, executive initiatives, and external partnerships. This team helps shape how Devex shows up in the world: through storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives that amplify our mission and leadership voice.

This role sits within the communications function of the Office of the President. You’ll work closely with the president’s office, the communications and marketing teams, and colleagues across the organization to execute projects that strengthen Devex’s brand, expand our audience reach, and advance our leadership in the global development community.

As Project Manager, Office of the President, you’ll be the connective tissue ensuring these projects run smoothly from concept to completion. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across editorial, marketing, partnerships, creative, and operations — keeping projects on track, communication clear, and outcomes impactful.

What kind of impact will you make here?

As Project Manager, you’ll support the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic communications, marketing, and events projects led by the Office of the President. You’ll manage timelines, workflows, and deliverables across teams, and help ensure Devex maintains a consistent, high-quality external presence.

Your work may include:

  • Managing communications and marketing projects for news, media partnerships, events, and special initiatives.
  • Coordinating social media content and promotional activities with the communications and editorial teams.
  • Supporting high-level events such as roundtables, receptions, and external gatherings.
  • Tracking project progress, budgets, and outcomes to ensure accountability and excellence.
  • Serving as a point of contact for cross-departmental coordination and occasional external partners.
  • Supporting ad hoc priorities from the Office of the President — often fast-moving and high-visibility.

In Your First 90 Days You’ll:

  • Receive onboarding and meet key colleagues across the Office of the President, communications, marketing, and news teams.
  • Learn Devex’s business lines, systems, and internal processes.
  • Begin managing select communications, marketing, or events projects with clear ownership.

By the End of Your First Year You’ll Have:

  • Led projects across communications, marketing, and events.
  • Established yourself as a trusted and organized partner within the Office of the President and communications function.
  • Developed systems and templates that make future projects more efficient.
  • Maintained high satisfaction for internal stakeholders and external partners alike.
  • Helped elevate Devex’s visibility, brand consistency, and strategic impact.

  • Qualifications

    Required

    • 4-5 years of project and client management in communications, marketing, or media.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
    • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello) and Microsoft or Google Workspace.
    • Creative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Nice-to-Haves

    • Experience managing cross-functional communications or marketing initiatives.
    • Strong understanding of data and metrics — how to gather and analyze performance results.
    • Experience in the global development sector.
    • Familiarity with media, journalism, or digital storytelling.
    • Comfort working with remote teams across time zones.
    • Marketing (email, advertising, or social media) or design experience.
    • Familiarity with Monday.com, Google Analytics, or Marketo.
