Position Summary

The Project Controller is responsible for monitoring and supporting effective project delivery by driving structured planning, accurate reporting, and adherence to compliance requirements. This includes preparing project plans, developing regular status reports, supporting change management activities, and assisting with project forecasting to ensure smooth execution.

The position collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, including department colleagues and supervisors, and engages with clients where applicable to support project transparency and delivery.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of assigned projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop capital and labour-hour estimates and budgets.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with contract terms and oversee the implementation of contract changes.
  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of baseline documents (e.g., Contract/PO, execution plan, scope of work, schedule, estimate, project risk management).
  • Apply management techniques to achieve and maintain positive profitability.
  • Implement processes to ensure the completion and effectiveness of mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and clients.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Facilitate project meetings, track action items, and ensure timely completion.
  • Establish communication processes and plans to ensure information flows effectively to all project stakeholders.
  • Participate in contract or change order negotiations with Sales and Senior Management.
  • Serve as the Area Project Manager for multiple project phases within a large project.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and proposing enhancements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior project coordinators or team members as needed.
Your Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5–8 years of experience in a project controls or project management role.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, with solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accountability with a consistent focus on quality.
