Job Overview

The PR Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the company’s public relations strategies, building relationships with media outlets, and overseeing the creation of press releases and other media materials through thought leadership, strategic communications and strong media relations. You will play a crucial role in shaping and promoting the public image of the company, driving brand awareness, and enhancing our reputation in the industry. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong media connections, and a proactive approach to managing the company’s public relations efforts.

Your Responsibilities

  • PR Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy, including identifying the appropriate media partners for the company, brand and its executives that aligns with the company’s business goals, brand voice, and target audience.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers. Pitch story ideas, secure media coverage, and manage inbound press inquiries. Secure media coverage, interviews and speaking opportunities in trade publications, business outlets, and other relevant platforms that reach our target audience.
  • Press Materials Creation: Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials that effectively convey the company’s messages to the public. Specific to B2B: Tailor content to appeal to B2B audiences, including C-suite executives and decision-makers.
  • Crisis Communications: Manage the company’s reputation in times of crisis, ensuring timely, transparent, and appropriate responses to negative press or public issues.
  • Brand Positioning & Thought Leadership: Position company executives as thought leaders by securing speaking engagements, guest articles, and media interviews. Develop strategies to showcase expertise and strengthen brand credibility.
  • Media Monitoring & Reporting: Track media coverage, measure PR campaign effectiveness, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including media impressions, sentiment, and share of voice.
  • PR Campaign and Event Management: Plan and coordinate press events, product launches, and other media-facing activities to generate buzz and attract coverage.
  • Internal Communications: Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and HR, to align PR efforts with overall company messaging, ensuring consistent communication across all channels.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with executives and leadership to understand key messaging, upcoming initiatives, and areas of focus. Provide counsel on managing public perception and maintaining a positive brand image.
  • Media Sponsorship Evaluation: Evaluate media sponsorship values, recommend and negotiate for inclusions achieving ROI.

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, with a proven track record of managing successful PR campaigns and securing media coverage.
  • Strong relationships with key media outlets and influencers in related B2B industries, e.g., tech, healthcare, business, etc].
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages.
  • Experience working in the B2B sector, managing relationships with industry-specific media, and creating content that resonates with business decision-makers.
  • Strong understanding of media trends, social media, and digital communications.
  • Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Proficient in PR tools and platforms and media monitoring software.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, including marketing, content, and executive leadership.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of analytics tools to measure media impact and PR ROI.
  • Previous experience working with corporate communications or investor relations.
  • Strong connection with publications and media outlets
  • Experience working with senior executives and positioning them as thought leaders.
  • Familiarity with industry conferences, webinars, and networking opportunities for B2B businesses.
