Brief Description
Operations Assistant will principally be focused on vessel operations.
3 keys elements of the role are:
- Supervise Vessel operations
- Coordinate with port authorities and government agencies and requirements of vessel
- Ensures on-time arrival/ departure according to proforma schedule set by liner management
Key responsibilities:
- Check vessel schedule through Daily position report and or C - report
- Coordinate with local team to issue port specific berth plan to the terminal and local agents
- Prepares cheque 1 week prior vessels arrival- (payment for port dues)
- Prepares and submit berth application to Terminal and CIQ
- Ensures terminal receives departure EDI from assigned ship manager- upon vessel departure from last port
- check and validate through MaCS3 with ship manager and report/ rectify discrepancy
- Provide CS and partners of discharging list
- Liaise on stowage with terminal operators and loading agent
- Coordinate with terminal on ordering of Pilots, Tugs, mooring
- Review terminal departure reports and dispute unjustified cost
- Monitor and inform the inform Ops Assistant Manager any ops related issues
- Communicate with Logs team and ensure special permit to load is submitted to BOC
- Inform CIQ of vessels actual arrival
- Apply for DG clearance to PPA (if vessel is carrying DG cargoes)
- Ensure timely submission of SPL, tonnage report, ED and etc…
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, in any field.
- Working experience in shipping, port/terminal is an advantage
- Familiarity with the rules and regulations at the port and terminal is an advantage
- Should be dynamic, can work with less guidance, and committed to working hard
- Results-oriented, with a sense of urgency, flexible and proactive
- Must have 2-3 years working experience in a related field.
