Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Monitoring and facilitating the efficient movement of vessels, cargo within the port jurisdiction, ensuring adherence to schedules and operational plans. This involves overseeing vessel berthing’s to ensure safe docking and managing the flow of goods and people through the port.
- Supervising and coordinating with terminal operators, shipping lines, cargo handlers, and other port users to ensure smooth and efficient port operations.
- Implementing and enforcing port operating procedures, rules, and regulations related to berthing, cargo handling, storage, and traffic management within the port's waterways and land-based facilities.
- Working with shipping agents, port authorities and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Actively promoting security awareness and vigilance among all port personnel, and users through training, drills, and regular communication.
- Attending all Ship Pre-Arrival Meetings at the Trade Compliance and Facilitation Department (TCFD) Building on SBMA for incoming vessels in Quay 2, with Agila Subic.
- Conducting regular inspections of port facilities, equipment, and operational areas to ensure they meet safety, cleanliness, and serviceability standards.
- Be able to create or edit existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on new or upcoming changes.
- Ensure the Quay stays in compliance with all Philippine Ports Authority requirements.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required for LCV Mission.
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Shipping or a related field
- Completion of 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training is required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Port Operations, Vessel Discharging, Warehousing, or Logistics
- Proven experience as a warehouse or port operations supervisor, preferably in the logistics, or customs industry
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of port operations, discharging procedures, warehousing, logistics systems
- Knowledgeable in pollution control and environmental regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic digital reporting systems
- Ability to resolve operational issues with sound judgment
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
- High attention to details and accuracy in reporting
- Proactive and committed to continuous improvement and safe work practices
- Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
- Supervisory Skills:
- The ability to collaborate with a work style fosters cooperation and teamwork.
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, rainy duty environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
