We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
We are currently looking for a Planner & Scheduler for our Asia Pacific Energy and Power Team. This role will support the planning and scheduling function on key projects, developing schedules for the delivery of Jacobs Services as well as providing expert review of the Project execution plans of external contractors and Clients. This may include the consolidation into a master schedule, the scheduling and planning material provided by others. You’ll be responsible to collaborate, develop and maintain solid relationships across multifunctional teams.

The role shall translate projects into a sequential work schedule
- Develops a Master Schedule for the Program that includes major activities, durations, logic dependencies, milestones, and start/finish dates. Master Schedule will highlight the critical path and near critical paths
- Supports the development and implementation of the Program’s scheduling policies and procedures
- Conducts detailed reviews of resource loaded baseline schedules from designers and contractors. Evaluates compliance with contract milestones, and assesses logic dependencies, start/finish dates, and the capacity of the assigned resources to complete activities within the specified durations. Also, reviews scheduling interfaces with other contracts. Meets with schedulers from designers and contractors and reconciles review comments
- Reviews monthly schedule updates from designers and contractors and assesses progress against approved baseline schedules. Identifies slippages that impact the project critical path and works with the project teams on options to mitigate these problems
- Compiles monthly schedule updates from designers and contractors and makes appropriate adjustments to the Program Master Schedule
- Reviews the schedule impacts of proposed changes and advises the project teams
- Conducts scheduling analyses of designer and contractor claims. Supports negotiation as requested.
- Prepare Engineering Deliverables with milestone dates
- Prepare and update schedule and S curves. ? Confers with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects
- Prepare Procurement and Construction milestone monitoring schedule
- Prepare Manpower Histogram and update actual and forecast manpower
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Highlight Critical Path and highlight areas of concerns to Project Management
- Prepares Progress and Productivity status reports
- Compiles monthly schedule updates from designers and contractors and makes appropriate adjustments to the Program Master Schedule
- Reviews the schedule impacts of proposed changes and advises the project teams
- Conducts scheduling analyses of designer and contractor claims. Supports negotiation as requested
- Confirms that project schedules include planning, permitting, procurement, design, design review, construction, testing, commissioning, ORAT, and third-party project activities
- Provides project teams with scheduling resources to support the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
- Evaluates scheduling risks with project managers. Evaluate the risk impacts and develop mitigation measures
- Works with project teams to solve difficult scheduling issues
- Reviews and compiles schedule information for the Program monthly progress reports
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Scheduling Manager
Here's what you'll need
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Planning and scheduling position.
- Degree / Diploma in engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Demonstrated experience developing a master schedule for a large capital program is required. Must include coordinating scheduling interfaces across multiple projects
- Background with several types of delivery contracts including EPC, re-measurable, lump sum, and early contractor involvement
- Experience working as a key member of an integrated project team comprised of employees from the client and program/project manager/ owner’s engineer
- Ability to use Primavera software version 6.1 or above
- Ability to use Microsoft Project
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word software.
- Willingness to be assigned onsite on project basis.
