Job Purpose

  • The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing and managing all invoices received for payment in a timely and accurate manner. This role ensures that all payments are processed according to company policy and generally accepted accounting principles. This position plays a critical role in maintaining positive vendor relationships and contributing to the overall financial health of Caron Scientific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and coding.
  • Process invoices for payment, including data entry into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all invoices and payments.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
  • Prepare and process manual checks as needed.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
  • Stay current on relevant accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Required Experience

  • At least two years of related accounting experience
