Pay range: We value transparency and want to ensure a good fit for both parties. We encourage applicants who are comfortable within the salary range of Php 102,000 to Php 139,000 to apply.

We are seeking a technically accomplished and proactive Network Security Engineer to join our Manila-based team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, aligned to UK working hours. In this key role, you will design and manage secure network infrastructures across on-premise and cloud environments. From firewalls and IDS/IPS to VPNs and web application security, your work ensures resilience against evolving threats while supporting seamless business operations. Collaborating across global teams, you'll help protect sensitive data, minimise risk, and uphold our organisation's security posture and compliance standards.

What will you do as a Network Security Engineer?
As a Network Security Engineer, you will fortify our network infrastructure against cyber threats, enabling safe and robust connectivity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, hardening, and auditing network architectures (on-premises and cloud).
- Managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure VPNs, and web application firewalls (WAF).
- Leading incident response, log analysis, and coordination with the SOC.
- Monitoring and remediating malicious network activity in real-time.
- Configuring and reviewing network traffic filters, change controls, and access rules.
- Supporting DDoS defence, vulnerability assessments, and Zero Trust implementations.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations such as ISO 27001, CIS, and GDPR.
- Guiding audits and improving network security tooling and visibility

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
An ideal candidate has the following qualities:
- A degree and 5+ years of experience in a network security role or equivalent technical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and secure VPN architecture.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and protocols securing hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in managing tools such as Nmap, Metasploit, or Wireshark.
- Experience with Zero Trust models, segmentation, and encryption techniques.
- Relevant Infrastructure and/or security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, CND, CEH, CompTIA).
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
