Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience coding inpatient/outpatient medical records in a BPO setting
- Must hold a coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC (such as CPC, CIC, or CCS and COC)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Required to complete onsite training before transitioning to a remote work setup.
- Reviews patient records and assigns appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes based on ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, or other authorized coding systems, ensuring compliance with coding standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures accuracy in applying coding modifiers and takes necessary steps to resolve coding discrepancies or edits.
- Follows the ethical coding principles established by AHIMA, maintaining integrity and professionalism in all coding practices.
