As an Admin Medical Assistant, you will:
- Manage PARS for medications and procedures
- Be responsible for referral coordination to specialist
- Record requests from hospitals or specialist
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by Nurse Practitioner
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information are filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Manage a high volume of patient visits
- Practice Patient Education
Non-negotiables
- Bachelor’s degree in any medical field (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, Radiology, etc.)
- Medical Assistant: 2 years (Preferred)
- Experience in mental health or primary care a plus
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
- A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including patience and flexibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
