Who are we looking for?

Our Digital Design I team is looking for an experienced Mechanical Modeller to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Delivering on own project tasks within allocated budget.
• Identifying a decrease in own workload and informs Supervisor when additional tasks are needed to maintain utilization within allocated time.
• Recommending implementation plans for own part of project / project team to Technical Lead or senior members of the team.
• Suggesting improvements for existing processes / procedures / standards to Technical Lead to execute tasks more efficiently and effectively. \
• Using some discretion to perform own tasks in the most effective and efficient way, but largely applies set procedures/ processes/ standards to achieve defined outcomes.
• Actively linking in with GHD Service Line / other Business Groups to find new and creative solutions to new or complex or advanced problems and leverages these for the benefit of the broader Region and beyond, and assists to drive continuous improvement.
• Following set procedures, processes and standards to solve less broad, generalist problems based on practice and precedent, typically resolves standard/routine problems using existing solutions and methodologies, with limited to no supervision
• Being the Technical Lead / Project Lead Drafter for medium sized, moderately complex project/s.
• Applying existing knowledge and experience to solve more routine technical problems.
• Informally supervising the performance of more junior team members to ensure compliance to procedures, processes and standards, and reports non-compliance to senior team members.
  
  

What you will bring to the team?

• 1-2 years working knowledge and experience with any Mechanical 3D modeling software are welcome.
• Experience in Plant and Process, Structural, and Civil work is an added advantage.
• Well-developed communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Sound judgement and decisiveness.
• Manage several jobs at once and determine priorities.
• Applies broad knowledge of a technical discipline or advanced knowledge of technical / operational practices, demonstrated in a relevant industry or consulting business.
• Proactive, analytical, and has good problem-solving skills.
