We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Mechanical Engineer to join our mission-critical facilities team. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering high-performance mechanical systems for data centers and advanced facilities. The successful candidate will lead mechanical design efforts, ensure compliance with international standards, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to commissioning.

Your impact
We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Mechanical Engineer to join our mission-critical facilities team. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering high-performance mechanical systems for data centers and advanced facilities. The successful candidate will lead mechanical design efforts, ensure compliance with international standards, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to commissioning.
Design & Engineering
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations for precision-controlled environments.
- Calculate PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and WUE (Water Usage Effectiveness) to optimize energy and water efficiency.
- Design and size chilled water systems, including AHUs (Air Handling Units) and CDUs (Coolant Distribution Units).
- Develop design drawings, specifications, and technical reports for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Apply energy-efficient and sustainable design principles for mission-critical environments.
- Utilize BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) and 3D modeling for design coordination.
- Establish and maintain design criteria in accordance with industry standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.
- Support proposal preparation, bids, and technical presentations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and resolving technical issues.
- Assist in commissioning and testing of mechanical systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes and international standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes, risk management, and project reporting.
- Heating and cooling load calculations for data centers.
- PUE/WUE performance analysis for energy and water efficiency.
- Chilled water system design, including AHU/CDU sizing.
- Understanding of data center redundancy requirements (N, N+1, 2N).
- Coordination with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Support preparation of Sequence of Operations (SOO) for mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or eligibility (preferred).
- 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on data centers or mission-critical projects.
- Proven experience in design and construction-phase support, including commissioning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and mechanical design software.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, CRAC/CRAH units, and energy efficiency strategies.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
