Description

Job Summary

Manage import/export compliance activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws/regulations and timely clearance of shipments

General Responsibilities

  • Manage operating departmental budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient allocation of resources, where applicable
  • Develop and enhance customs compliance policy and standard operating procedures in accordance to industry standards and relevant laws and regulations
  • Obtain all required import permits and export licenses for all processes
  • Ensure prompt and timely daily clearance of incoming shipments to ensure availability of stocks for sales team
  • Manage and resolve all document-related problems related to import shipments to ensure compliance with customs requirements and timely clearance of import shipments
  • Manage all urgent shipments or arrivals, special promotions, importations and exportations to ensure timely delivery and clearance
  • Monitor new developments and changes in customs laws, trade agreements, port policies; enhance policies/standard operating procedures accordingly
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with all import and export policies
  • Act as a subject matter expert in all import and export operations and provide advice to ensure compliance with required regulations

Functional Skills And Knowledge

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge in all applicable export and import laws and regulations
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of supply chain, distribution, transport and logistics
  • Proven experience in international trade and customs compliance, preferably in a multi-national environment
  • Demonstrate working knowledge on SAP system
  • Demonstrate appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in international/cross-cultural interactions
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field
