Role Overview

As Legal Manager, you will oversee all legal and regulatory matters across Hive Health Group, ensuring our operations remain compliant, ethical, and strategically aligned with our mission. You’ll serve as the bridge between the business and regulatory environments—helping the company navigate complex healthcare and insurance regulations, manage legal risk, and maintain strong relationships with regulators and external counsel.

This role is ideal for someone who is both detail-oriented and strategic—comfortable drafting legal opinions one moment and advising senior leadership on compliance frameworks the next.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory & Legal Oversight
  • Stay current on Philippine laws and regulations that impact Hive Health Group’s operations, including those from the Insurance Commission (IC), SEC, BIR, DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and Data Privacy Commission (DPC).
  • Oversee compliance with HMO licensing, registration, and reporting requirements.
  • Support board-level governance, audits, and corporate housekeeping for both Philippine and Singapore entities.
  • Compliance Program Execution
  • Develop and enforce policies, processes, and training that ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage compliance audits, incident investigations, and reporting.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and accountability across all departments.
  • Risk & Regulatory Relationship Management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks through a proactive, risk-based approach.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulators (e.g., IC, SEC, BIR, DOLE) and ensure timely submission of required filings and reports.
  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate new or upcoming regulations and guide internal adoption.
  • Legal Advisory & Documentation
  • Provide sound, business-oriented legal advice across company operations, contracts, and partnerships.
  • Manage external counsel and ensure consistency and cost-effectiveness in legal support.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized legal documentation and corporate records across all group entities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or Legal Management (Philippine JD or Bar qualification a strong plus).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal or compliance function in the Philippines, ideally in insurance, HMO, or regulated financial services.
  • Proven experience engaging with regulatory agencies (Insurance Commission, SEC, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare financing, fintech, insurtech, or tech startups.
  • Familiarity with Singapore corporate and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and corporate governance.
