The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for primary facilitation of Introductory Job training (Product Specific Training (PST), and Nesting Training) for one or multiple Lines of Business (LOB) as assigned or directed.
The L&D Specialist is responsible for assisting with job and task analysis, curriculum design and edits, facilitation, measurement of successful course completion, and tracking of assigned training and development initiatives. Works closely with the Sr. Manager for Training and Quality, and the Operations Manager or Department leads of assigned LOB, to assist with identifying training and developmental gaps and works with all teammates and leaders to maximize teammate performance and skill development.
Specific Responsibilities
Education

Specific Responsibilities
- Completes required Training and Curriculum Development Certifications.
- Aligns and gathers materials from Onshore partners as required for the process training to be facilitated
- Generates additional or required materials to facilitate the process specific training in the most effective and efficient methodology available.
- Demonstrates the ability to speak knowledgably about company products, guidelines, and standards and facilitates the training and discussion of this knowledge and skillset to both new hire and existing employees.
- Facilitates group training for annual training requirements, new product training launches, gap training needs and update training sessions.
- Conducts make up classes and one-on-one training as required.
- Partners with management to identify and develop action plans for skill and behavioral improvement.
- Tests the participants to measure their progress and determine the overall effectiveness of training.
- Conducts regular check-for-understanding activities and assessments as required, and as a result of Quality and performance findings.
- Maintains attendance and performance records for all classroom participants.
- Maintains working relationships and appropriate communication with business unit management to measure the overall effectiveness of training and determine additional training needs as required. Provides timely feedback to department Managers on teammate growth, developmental needs, and participation in training sessions.
- Reviews curriculum for recommended modifications and enhancements when applicable.
- May recommend hiring, promotion, terminations or any other change of status of Associates.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in training responsibilities.
- Completes classroom observations as required.
- Provides coaching and feedback to teammates individually and in group settings throughout the organization to ensure quality of service and adherence to established guidelines.
- Constantly looks for ways to improve and promote quality of work, agent development, and process flow.
- Helps to identify, and shows enthusiasm for, creating new ways of sustaining coaching and developing initiatives.
- Independently researches training and development techniques, recommends and implement enhancements to existing and new programs.
- Provides floor support to agents through real-time interventions: side-by-side, coaching sessions, feedback, and cascades
Education
- College degree preferred
- Any related training certifications
- Train-the-Trainer Certification programs preferred
- Internal - at least 1 year tenure in Abbott Diagnostics Philippines
- External - 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Candidate must be proficient with PC skills, Word and Excel, above average knowledge in PowerPoint
- Very good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively convey the subject matter to ensure comprehension to all audiences.
- Ability to demontrate facilitation skills that incorporate adult learning principles
- Ability to learn curriculum development design and program implementation Ability to work autonomously and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to be team oriented.
- Has basic knowledge of instructional design methodologies
- Demonstrates concentration and attention to detail.
