Position Overview

We’re seeking a Lead Analyst who turns complex medical claim data into clear, actionable insights. You’ll use SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visuals) to build reliable models and reports—then go beyond dashboards to interpret results, frame the story, and advise decision-makers. This role is hands-on today, with a near-term path to build and lead an analytics team.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to scope questions, define metrics, and translate needs into analytical requirements.
• Design and maintain data models, queries, and ETL/Power Query steps to deliver trustworthy datasets.
• Build, publish, and govern Power BI reports and semantic models; optimize DAX for performance and usability.
• Perform exploratory analyses in SQL/Python (e.g., cohorting, drivers, segmentation, forecasting).
• Turn findings into clear narratives, visuals, and recommendations that influence decisions.
• Establish documentation, QA checks, and data quality guardrails.
• Create reusable analytics assets (measures, templates, views) to speed future work.
• Track and communicate KPIs, trends, and business drivers to stakeholders on a regular cadence.
• Mentor analysts and contribute to the hiring plan, standards, and workflows for a growing team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Ops, Finance, Product, Sales, RevOps, IT) to align data definitions and priorities.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in analytics, BI, or data science with a track record of driving business outcomes.
• Advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, performance tuning) across large datasets.
• Python for analysis/automation (pandas, numpy; basic visualization and scripting).
• Expert Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, report design) and strong Excel.
• Proven ability to tell the story behind the data—concise writing, crisp visuals, confident presentation.
• Experience collaborating directly with executives and non-technical audiences.
• Process mindset: documentation, version control, and testing/validation discipline.
