General Responsibilities

  • The Junior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing quality assurance standards and measures within the project. This role is responsible for assisting in the writing of test cases/scripts, assisting in the creation and execution of functional tests, tracking defects and fixes, and reporting the progress of each.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Test Case Design and Execution
  • Collaborate with the QA team to develop comprehensive test cases and scripts for various software systems (web, mobile, etc.)
  • Execute test cases and scripts meticulously, documenting results and identifying potential issues.
  • Defect Management:
  • Effectively report and track defects throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Raise quality concerns to senior QA or QA Lead and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager, QA Lead, and development team regarding testing progress and roadblocks.
  • Contribute to developing test strategies and plans, working alongside the QA Lead.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the QA field.
  • Reporting and Tracking:
  • Prepare reports that document testing activities, progress, and identified defects.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work status and testing results.
  • Other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Related Work Experience –At least 1 year of experience in Software Quality Assurance preferred.
  • Knowledge – Knowledgeable in the following:
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on Software Testing and Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Test Deliverables and Testing Methodologies (black-box, white-box, regression, etc.)
  • Defect Management. Knowledge of the defect life cycle, including reporting, tracking, and resolution.
  • Basic Test Tools and Documentation
  • Proficiency in Common Productivity Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for creating and maintaining test documentation and reports.
  • Programming knowledge is optional but desirable.
