Key Responsibilities

• Accurately record and classify daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts and disbursements.
• Assist in the processing of vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and timely payments. Prepare and send basic customer invoices and track payments.
• Assist in cash advance processing and liquidation.
• Assist with bank reconciliations by matching bank statements to internal records. Manage petty cash and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain organized and accurate records in our accounting system (e.g. Xero)
• Organize and maintain financial documents, both physical and electronic.
• Assist the Senior Bookkeeper with various tasks, including preparing reports, assisting with payroll preparation, and data analysis.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other statutory reports in compliance with Philippine tax regulations.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding invoices, payments, and other financial matters.
• Ensure adherence to basic accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as required to support the finance function.
• Identify and implement improvements to bookkeeping processes.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration (with a focus on Accounting), or any related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, local Philippine accounting software) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for basic data entry and organization.
• Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively.
• Basic understanding of Philippine tax regulations and payroll procedures is a plus.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
• Must be residing in or willing to commute to Cebu City, Philippines.
• Open to local travel as needed.
